Success Science of V-Actor Shockwave

The success of V-Actor Shockwave therapy can be attributed to its ability to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. The high-energy sound waves delivered by the V-Actor device promote the growth of new blood vessels, increase blood flow to the affected area, and promote the production of collagen. These changes in the body promote healing and reduce pain.

FAQS

Sessions are quick and take between 5 and 20 minutes to deliver effective shockwave treatment to the affected area(s).

Although relief is often felt right after the first session, most injuries require 3-5 sessions although older and more severe injuries may require up to 9 sessions. There will be improvement after the first session and best results continue from 3 months to a year as healthy tissue remodelling occurs and proper movement and tone is restored. Treatments are recommended 7-10 days apart.

For each injury we program a specific pressure and penetration of acoustic waves pulses delivered as HZ energy to your tissues. The shockwave tears down old injury adhesions, scar and fibrous tissues on a microscopic level in any musculoskeletal area of your body. This process stimulates your bodies Repair Mechanisms to immediately start to rebuild the damaged joints or tissues stronger by attracting your body’s own stem cells, new fibrin and cellular matrix to replace the damaged tissues! You will feel a “zappy” sensation in areas where tissue is damaged but not in healthy areas.

Most people feel a great improvement immediately after the first treatment with decreased pain and improved function! However, it takes 21 days to get the full effect following each Shockwave treatment you receive as the body needs time to repair itself. Even more promising, best clinical results are even seen 3 months and 1 year after the initial treatment as your body continues to repair and remodel the joint or tissue.

Shockwave Therapy is one of the most Advanced and Highly Effective treatments cleared by the FDA for Pain. Shockwave Therapy has a PROVEN Success Rate of 91% (from clinical studies) which is more effective for treating pain than ANY other method including Dangerous Addictive Drugs and Risky Surgeries

Yes it is covered by insurance through Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and Acupuncture depending on which licensed practitioner treating you. All our therapists have extensive knowledge of rehabilitation so we can test and precisely target and treat the damaged tissue. Most of our providers offer direct billing to your insurance company.

One of the most significant advantages it creates for patients is that it helps form new blood vessels. The new vessels create better blood flow that pushes nutrients to the damaged tissue and supports faster healing for affected bones and tendons. There are many other advantages as well, such as:

Disperses “Substance P”

Shockwaves help rid the affected area of “Substance P,” a neurotransmitter known for creating intense and persistent pain in the body. This is often the goal when treating specific conditions like chronic plantar fasciitis.

Dissolves Calcified Fibroblasts

Shockwave therapy breaks up calcifications that create micro-tears or otherwise traumatize tendons and cause pain.

Releases Trigger Points

Acoustic shockwaves help to release trigger points that cause pain in the back, neck, and shoulders, thus relieving pain.

Reverses Chronic Inflammation

Chronic inflammation damages tissue and creates chronic pain. Acoustic waves increase mast cells in the body, which are essential for removing excess inflammation and restoring the normal healing process.

Stimulates Collagen Production

Collagen is essential for repairing damage in my skeleton and ligaments. Shockwaves accelerate the production of collagen and force it into newly formed tendon fibers to make them firmer.

Releases growth factors

Patients tend to love shockwave therapy because it’s a fast treatment that doesn’t require a long-term commitment to weekly doctor’s visits the way some treatments do. The time to recover from treatment sessions is short compared to some other types of treatment, such as surgery, and the long-term results often last longer than those related to steroid injections or massage therapy.

It is also useful when combined with other treatment types, such as a customized rehabilitation plan from a physical therapist. Some people prefer it because it can be an excellent alternative to surgeries or prescription pain medications, which have several potential disadvantages, such as very long recovery times or the potential for addiction. Finally, shockwave treatment is often quite affordable.

While Shockwave is suitable for a large number of conditions both evidenced and experimental with minimal side effects, there are some conditions, also known as contraindications that means Shockwave is not an option.

Shockwave is unsuitable in the following circumstances:

  • If you are pregnant
  • If you have a blood clotting disorder (including thrombosis)
  • If you are taking oral anti-coagulants
  • If you have received a Steroid injection within 6 weeks
  • If you have a Pacemaker fitted
  • If tumours are present at the treatment site
  • If you have an infection or skin abrasion at the treatment site
  • If you are Under 18 (except in the treatment of Osgood-Schlatter disease) This is so there is no interference to the growth plates.

Radial shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that has been shown to effectively treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. The scientific research supporting its use is robust, and patients can expect to experience significant pain reduction and improved function following treatment. If you are suffering from a musculoskeletal condition, talk to your doctor about whether RSWT may be right for you.
