Acupuncture is a healing therapy that comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and when put in the hands of the right practitioner, it’s progressive medicine curated for your well being.
Used for over 2000+ years, this powerful medicine has no limits and can help with a wide range of health issues from pain reduction to hormonal balancing, fertility issues, digestive health, nervous system vitality and more.
Tiny, one-time use, sterile points are placed in the body to communicate with the nervous system and the brain to facilitate your healing. In Chinese medicine, meridians are described as energy pathways throughout the body that promote healing and positive change.
Today, it may be easier to conceptualize meridians as the nervous system; a point placed in one area may generate a response in another. When acupuncture points are stimulated, the signal notifies the brain to create a physical response which could be a release of hormones, immune cells, increased circulation and more.
Acupuncture feels great! You’ll feel relaxed and renewed after your sessions with the added benefit of healing from your current symptoms. It’s very safe and can be done with young babies, children, adults, and seniors.
Ghada also offer Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture Treatments in addition to Classical Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Sessions.
Nervous about Needles? Don’t worry you are not alone, although most people don’t feel the needles being inserted and its very relaxing during treatment we know this is a barrier for some. We have needle-free acupressure options too:
Tara uses buttons and an acupuncture pen (this uses 650nm red light, with strong penetration deep into the muscle and stimulate acupoints)
Ghada and Ming also use Chinese medicine Cupping, Guasha and Tuina Massage for their needle-free sessions.

I use a style of acupuncture where I directly communicate with the brain to turn off pain signals, reduce inflammation, increase circulation, and calm down over firing of nerves. These points are often away from the area of discomfort and by tapping into them, people will usually notice an improvement within seconds of treatment. This style is from the late Dr. Richard Tan, called Balance Method Acupuncture and is wonderfully effective.
Usually, I like to do a set of treatments, which are usually between 4-6 visits and are close together. Acupuncture is a cumulative therapy, where each session builds on the previous one. I find that after 3-4 sessions people will get a significant improvement in what they came in for and then we can adjust treatments from there.
We will meet and discuss what you’d like to work on and your full health history. That means I’ll ask about your digestion, sleep, stress levels, diet and more. Even if you’re coming in for headaches or something seemingly unrelated, I will still ask about it. I want to see the bigger picture, so I can create a healing plan that is unique to you. People show symptoms due to many different reasons. Such as, headaches can be due to weather, hormonal changes, diet, stress, lack of sleep, desk position, and more. My job is to see the root cause and work from there, so we can reverse them for good. Next, I will perform an acupuncture treatment, where you will lay up to 30 minutes with the points in. You will remain dressed and I will only need access to your arms and legs. Sometimes I give homework such as stress management tools and nutritional advice. We will follow up at each visit to see what’s changed, what didn’t and how I will adjust your treatment to address that.
The better question is, what can acupuncture not treat. In my 10 + years of practice, I have successfully worked with conditions such as hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, TMJ, headaches and migraines, pain – all pain – in all parts of the body – especially back pain, shoulder and neck pain, knee pain and more. I’ve worked with fertility, early pregnancy issues like morning sickness, cervical ripening as part of labour preparation, pelvic pain, autoimmune diseases, insomnia, anxiety, depression, PTSD, post virus injury, and more.
This is common and a valid question. The needles I use in our treatments are very thin and tiny. I like to refer to them as “kitten whiskers” as they are so small and generally as well received. If you’re feeling unsure about trying acupuncture or perhaps you’ve had a not so nice experience in the past, we will start very gently and slowly. I also have other tools that are pain free and also work wonderfully to stimulate acupuncture points. I will meet you where you’re at and we will work within your comfort zone together.
