Chiro-Pilates Rehab is a supervised hands-on movement therapy program focused on restoring and optimizing movement, flexibility, strength, posture, and mental concentration.
By Combining the principles of Chiropractic with Pilates, Dr. Sukhi and Carly have merged their specialties to provide the ultimate care for you. Each session is designed to rehabilitate any dysfunctional movement patterns that are negatively affecting you. This is essential for you to increase your overall activity and fitness without further risk of injury.
Chiropractic thoroughly assesses and restores proper alignment of the spine and posture to increase space and minimize compression to elevate the body’s healing ability and minimizes pain and pressure. Whereas Pilates methods of movement are designed to and help correct muscle imbalances and stabilize the core of the pelvis, spine, and joints (even in your feet and ankles.)
You will quickly see where your weaknesses and problem areas are, and an individualized program will be designed to retrain your body to move in safer, more effective ways that deal with those persistent pain problems so you can perform with power and ease.
In each session you will wake up healthy movement patterns that are long forgotten from sitting all day or that became hindered from accidents, injuries, misuse, and over-use. Often clients get stuck in old patterns of restriction and injury. This immobilization intensifies the underlying problems further which cause the body to tighten and stiffen up in a self-defeating cycle – sometimes even the simplest movements of standing up or sitting down can trigger discomfort. This protective mechanism can even make you averse to movement because your muscles are always on guard. Often, we blame this protection for making us feel lazy or unmotivated, but it is really because the brain-body feedback has become overly sensitive and resistant to move due to irritation, injury, and instability.
Clinical research has proven both Chiropractic & Pilates to be effective in relieving pain and accelerating your rehabilitation and recovery in many studies on chronic neck and low back pain, ankylosing spondylitis, multiple sclerosis, post-menopausal osteoporosis, scoliosis, and hypertension just to name a few conditions it helps with.
