As a competitive athlete and having myself sustained an injury, I quickly learned how important it is to ensure my body received the proper treatment to help support my rehabilitation. Not only was I seeking relief from my physical pain, but I also needed my full range of motion to be restored. Fascinated by my experience with massage therapy, I began to gain a keen interest in learning how the body works and responds to various treatment applications. Having a great mentor in my life also steered me onto a path towards becoming a Registered Massage Therapist. She helped me understand that our body is the key to reaching goals that we set for ourselves and that if our body functions at optimal levels, we can overcome any obstacles that may get in the way of obtaining those goals.
I earned by Registered Massage Therapist Certification from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2019. The accelerated program was extremely challenging but the education and experience I received has armed me with a much deeper understanding of how the human body responds to various treatment techniques. I specialize in The Align’d Approach Manual Therapy for Posture, Movement Correction and Pain Alleviation which addresses 13 biological systems including: Core Engagement, the Foot Form and Function, Cranial Therapy, Neuromuscular and Bone, Neurolymphatic, NeuroVisceral, Neurofascial, Neurovascular and much more to relieve internal pressure causing you problems and compressing your tissues and align you from head to toe for peak performance and improved mobility. I still do traditional Swedish Massage too which includes deep tissue, trigger point release and myofascial release. I am also certified in Kinesio-Taping which can be applied to encourage healing as well as assist in minimizing pain. I consistently see improvement in my client’s conditions as we work towards healing and restoring their body. My collaborative approach to understanding my individual clients’ needs allows me to work with them to develop an individualized treatment plan that is geared towards helping their own unique rehabilitation process. In several cases, my client’s exposure to the day-to-day stresses of our lives has led them to me to help release built up tensions and prepare them to face the days ahead again.
I thank those who have allowed me to become a part of their healing process. For me, nothing is more gratifying than the positive feedback I’ve received from my clients and the successes that we have achieved together. I’m excited to share my love for self-healing and see the changes in our bodies through the therapeutic treatments.
A happy body equals a happy life. I hope to see you soon.
Thanks
Amanda
